“In Gostivar there is no nationalism, at least not in the degree for us to emphasize it, even though we are a multi-ethnic municipality. There is coexistence and cooperation among the citizens of Gostivar, involvement of all ethnic communities in all problems of the city”, highlighted citizen activist and long-time supporter of CIVIL, Slagjana Angelkoska, during her visit to CIVIL’s info stand in Gostivar where the project “Green future” was promoted.
We spoke with Angelkoska also about the protection of the environment, citizens’ care about ecology and maintenance of public space, as well as about the standard of living and social justice of the citizens in Gostivar.
“Compared to previous years, now there is more attention given to ecology and the environment, an accent put on the greenery that surrounds the citizens, the parks, green areas…The citizens are not satisfied with the standard of living, but they do not have a choice… Everyone deals in their own way. Unemployment is low, but generally they are not satisfied with the way they live”, considers Angelkoska.
Slagjana, together with CIVIL’s team, promoted the project “Green Future” among her citizens.
