CIVIL conducted a survey among the citizens in Struga regarding the question: What kind of future do we have: green or black? Especially in regards to environmental protection, ecology and prosperity of the country.
The residents of Struga are not very optimistic that a green future awaits us, and in terms of the ecology, they believe that the local authorities do not care enough.
“I don’t know what to say. I’m not an optimist that there will be harmony. I hope it will be better, but…”, considers one citizen.
“The youth in Struga themselves say what kind of future awaits us. There are 60% less young people now. For who should the government clean, when there aren’t any people? It’s not clean at all”, concludes another citizen.
“Green, we deserve that kind of future. The system is making it black”, considers one of the surveyed citizens.
“Black, tar black. Poverty is high, we have no good management of the state. The local government doesn’t care about anything. The River Drim is just mud, it should be maintained. Struga is a tourist place, and they shouldn’t be sitting in chairs all day”, replies another citizen disappointedly.
The survey is part of the project “Green Future” that CIVIL is implementing in cooperation with Heinrich Bǒll from Sarajevo.
