At today’s info-stand “Green Future”, CIVIL’s team talked with citizens about green values, social justice and antinationalism.
“I read your idea, I agree, but I think it is difficult”, says one Skopje citizen, speaking about the connection of these components that are a precondition for a democratic society oriented towards European values.
“Green values and social justice are practically impossible, because here injustice still rules. And in regards to antinationalism, I would say atavism. On small areas, where we are small nations, we are fighting and want to get away from each other”, says another.
CIVIL’s info-stands often attract the attention of tourists. So this time, two tourists from the United Kingdom visited the stand.
“The city is filled with plastic. The rivers are filled with plastic. The streets are filled with plastic. People should be encouraged not to use plastic for one use. Just like it’s done in Europe. Retailors should be forced to sell the plastic bags. But to have one cost 70 denars. Citizens have to be convinced only through their pocket, and not through their heart”, says this tourist, who several years ago worked in the Ministry of Agriculture, and is now visiting the country privately.
