CIVIL’s conference titled “Visions for a Green Future: Partnership for Circularity” will be held at City Park Hotel on May 23 (Tuesday) starting at 10.00 am. This event is part of the big regional initiative for marking the Western Balkans Circular Economy Week (May 22-26, 2023) under the slogan “Partnership 4 Circularity”, which is implemented by the LogEx regional network, upon the initiative of the eminent think-tank organization Balkan Forum from Kosovo, with the support of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund from the United States.
Participants of the conference are senior representatives from the government, business sector, media and civil society, and will speak in for half-hour sessions.
The first session, “Transformation of the Economy at the Local and National Level: Strategies, Challenges and Perspectives of the Circular Economy” includes participation the of Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning, Kaja Shukova.
The second session, “Western Balkans Circular Economy Week – Regional Experiences”, includes the participation of Astrit Istrefi, Executive Director of Balkan Forum, Kosovo, Selena Agatonovic from the Initiative for Youth Rights, Serbia, Samir Beharic from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Gazmend Berlojali from Kosovo.
In the third session “Innovations in the Business Sector and Circular Economy: Positive Examples for the Future” representatives from the business sector will speak, as follows: Filip Ivanovski, Pakomak, Arijan Toska, MDC-Trade and investments and Zhivko Serafimovski, Nutrivet
The fourth session will discuss two topics, as follows: Sonja Taneska, Editor-in-Chief of Gradska.mk on the topic “Media and Circular Economy” and Xhabir Deralla, President of CIVIL, on the topic “Impact of Russia’s Aggression Against Ukraine on the Economic Trends and Opportunities for Development of the Circular Economy”
Moderator of all four sessions of the Conference will be Biljana Jordanovska, Coordinator in CIVIL and Responsible Editor of Green CIVIL. At the end of each session, there is an opportunity for 2 questions or comments of up to 2 minutes.
Circular Economy Week is a unique regional initiative, through which the LogEx network contributes to transformation of the Western Balkans towards sustainable development, by promoting and implementing a circular economy.
Ahead of the Conference, on the day before, on Monday, May 22, starting at 10:30 am, a press conference will be held at CIVIL’s Press Center at the Paloma Bjanka Business Center, on the 3rd floor. All activities during the Western Balkans Circular Economy Week in the country and the region will be presented at the press conference.
