PRISHTINA, 26 May 2026 – The 2026 Circular Economy Week is officially underway, bringing together regional leaders and organizations to advance the green transition across the Western Balkans. Operating under the theme “Reconnecting to keep the tradition of cooperation in motion,” the event underscores the critical need for cross-border collaboration in sustainable development.
Spearheaded by The Balkan Forum and the LogEx community, the two-day online program kicked off on Monday, May 25. The opening day, introduced by Gazmend Berlajolli of The Balkan Forum, centered on innovative regional design. Nikki Murseli, founder of DYVO Lab and the mastermind behind the Prishtina Sustainable Design Week Festival, delivered the keynote address, sharing insights from her journey and detailing the highlights of the festival.
Activities continued on Tuesday, May 26, shifting focus to actionable partner updates and regional strategy. Moderated by Erina Rrahmani of The Balkan Forum, the session provided a platform for the LogEx coalition partners to reflect on the previous year’s successes and outline future steps.
The partner presentations highlighted the decentralized strength of the LogEx network.
- Kosovo: The Balkan Forum hosts acknowledged the great achievements of the LogEx community throughout the years, and encouraged members of the community to carry on with the great work.
- North Macedonia: CIVIL took the floor to represent the country, presenting a comprehensive overview of recent achievements in reporting and public awareness in this area, while outlining strategic future plans.
- Albania & Bosnia and Herzegovina: Build Green Group (BGG) and COD Jajce shared their respective national milestones and upcoming environmental initiatives.
The event concluded with an open discussion among all participating partners, reinforcing the shared commitment to bridging the skills gap and translating circular economy policies into practical, local realities across the region.
